LED car lights have the advantages of very long lifespan (approximately 30 000 hours), little power consumption and eco-friendliness. These lights only consume a fraction of the energy a normal halogen bulb would, saving a lot of energy during a long period of time. LED lights are also cool-running lights, since they have higher efficiency, and therefore convert most energy to light instead of heat. Cool running lights will not distort the cover lenses. Some applications also come with heat sinks, which further lengthen the lights lifespan.

Due to the low power consumption mentioned above engine management systems in newer vehicles might show that the lights are blown. Since LEDs have little resistance an additional resistor kit might be necessary to install. Lights with built-in resistors work in harmony with CANbus systems.
