The striplights can be cut into smaller pieces - after every five centimetres, and they are sold by the metre. The outdoor LED strip light is submersible, but connections need to be insulated and kept dry. If the strip light is cut into smaller strips - sizes, to keep their waterproof IP rating, they need to be sealed with end-caps filled with silicone paste. Outdoor LED strip lights come in two sizes: 3528 power SMD LEDs and 5050 power SMD LEDs. There is a wide range of colour is available, even colour changing RGB strip lights. Single coloured strip lights are available in blue, green, orange and red colours. White waterproof strips are available in warm white and bright white colour temperatures. Outdoor LED strip lights run at 12V DC, constant voltage. To assure the long lifespan of the strip light, make sure you use an LED suitable power supply to operate it, since electronic transformers ruin the LEDs and are not entitled for warranty. LED strip lights are also available in indoor version, with splash-proof, IP55 rating.
