Using LED bulbs at Home
Using LED (light emitting diode) lighting in your home has so many advantages. One of them is saving more on power consumption. This is because they emit a good amount of illumination while not taking up much energy. They also do not produce much heat. This means they cannot burn or damage foreign object, and more importantly, our hands.
There are LED light bulbs that have been designed to be compatible with sockets in lamps and other lighting fixtures. So, replacing the lighting fixtures in your home with LED bulbs can be done easily. The brightness LED bulbs range from high intensity to soft accent lighting. Consider this when choosing LED lighting fixtures for your home. You might also want to experiment with different placements inside the house.
An important thing to remember when using LED lights in the house is not to look at them directly. This is because they are very direct sources of light. Also, LED technology can be temperature sensitive, so it is possible that they will not work in extremely hot or cold conditions. However, this is rarely a concern for most people. Furthermore, LED light bulbs should not be used with a dimmer switch. These lighting devices have different components compared to other lighting fixture. Thus, dimmer switches do not work with LED bulbs.
When replacing lamps with LED bulbs, you have to turn off the light fixture first. For added safety, unplug it as well. Then, slowly remove the old bulb by turning it counter-clockwise. Install the LED bulb by turning it clockwise. Next, discard the old bulb in a safe way and turn on your lighting fixture. If the LED bulb does not turn on, turn off the light and tighten the bulb further.
